Distinguished guests
Ladies and gentlemen
On behalf of my delegation, the International Committee for Freedom to Support the Non-Violent Movement for Human Rights in Vietnam and of all Vietnamese who love freedom and democracy, I would like to thank the organizing committee for allowing us to participate in this important event.
We, Vietnamese are here to show our solidarity with our Laotian brothers and sisters in protesting the inhumane actions of the Laos
Government against its own people. We demand that The Laos Government should respect the basic human rights of all people and to open up its political system so the Laotian people can breath the free air.
We also here to demand that the Laos government to release immediately and unconditionally all political prisoners in particularly , the 5 brave Laotian students : Mr. Thongpaseuth Keuakoun, Kamphouvieng Sisaath, Seng-Aloun Phengphanh, Bouavanh Chanhmanivong who were illegally imprisoned by the Laos government for their peaceful demonstration on this day 10 years ago in Vientiane demanding for a more open political system in Laos.
We are here, to protest and to demand that the Vietnamese government stop its support to sustain a dictatorship regime in Laos, to let the Laotian people to live independently, to choose their own form of government according to their will.
Dear friends, We believe that the Laotian, the Vietnamese, the Chinese Communist regimes can not deny freedom of their own people forever. By joining together our voices can be heard. By joining together, we can make a difference.. We need to speak as one voice against the dictatorial regimes in Asia. We need to join forces to fight against their atrocities and to do everything possible to bring freedom and democracy to Vientiane, Hanoi, Beijing, Rangoon and everywhere in Asia. I am glad to announce that just a half year ago, the Alliance For Human Rights and Democracy in Asia was founded at the Capitol Hill by a group of Laotian, Burmese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tibetan, Mongolian human rights activists. We welcome all Asians that support human rights and democracy to join us, to support each other for a free and democratic Asia.
In that spirit, I salute all of the Laotian freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for the noble cause that all of us share. In that spirit, I wish you a successful conference today.
Thank you |
